Ditch the Digital!

At Sir Square Toes, we say “Ditch the Digital!” Communication is without a doubt, the most important element in successful parenting. When our children spend most of their time on digital devices, they spend less time talking to us. Instead of creating new memories with family and friends in real life, they obsess over what’s trending on social media. It’s cool to keep up with digital trends but we are wary of relying on it too much. We believe that with all the changes happening in the world, it’s more important than ever to maintain the family ties that we all need.

As parents, we can take active steps toward re-establishing close connections with our children. We can try to talk to them about cyber shenanigans, or, get the family together for some quality time with a board game. From Nan to the grandkids, everyone learns to play by the same rules, while having fun. There are opportunities for interaction and friendly one up-manship, while adding laughter and variety to family time.

And boy, board games are making a big comeback! There’s such a wide selection of board games available in the market nowadays, we're spoilt for choice! Stick to the classics or show off with the latest and greatest! Even old favourites are getting reboots.
